01 · Manufacturing
Connected from day one.
The passport starts before the product leaves the factory. Every item gets its identity on the production line and is tied to the batch it came from.
The passport
- Tags are ordered per batch, per variant or per colour, so each item carries the right passport from the start.
- Each code is a GS1 Digital Link address on your own brand prefix.
For the owner
- Nothing yet, and nothing to install later: the code on the product already points to a live passport.
For your brand
- When a batch is confirmed, its passport data is frozen, and every product can be traced back to the batch it came from.
- Factory accounts can only connect tags for the brands they produce for.
02 · Retail & onboarding
First scan, first owner.
At the point of sale or at home, one scan opens the passport. The buyer can read it straight away, or register the product to their name.
The passport
- Opens in the browser. No app needed to read the passport.
- For products sold in volume, one shared tag per colour lets many owners save the same product to their wallet.
For the owner
- Registers in one scan with an email account.
- Keeps the product on their name, with their own photos and the receipt.
For your brand
- You see who owns which product and variant, with their consent, and can export it.
- Without a registration you still see the scans, anonymously.
03 · Use & maintenance
Manuals, alerts, service.
In use, the passport is the product's manual and service desk in one. You keep it current without reprinting a single label.
The passport
- Manuals, care information, certificates and links to your own service pages, per product.
- You update the content at any time; every published version is kept, so changes stay traceable.
For the owner
- Lost & found: when an owner marks a product as lost, a finder who scans it can leave a phone number or email, and the owner is notified. The owner's details stay hidden.
For your brand
- Scans with time and approximate city, and which content, links and documents owners open.
Lost & found only works for a product its owner has marked as lost.
04 · Repair & spares
Repairs and spare parts.
When something breaks, the passport sends the owner to the right place: your repair service, your parts, your dealers.
The passport
- Links to your own repair service and spare parts, specific to the product and variant.
For the owner
- Has the receipt and their own photos at hand when they ask for a repair.
For your brand
- Which repair and parts links owners actually open, per product.
Repairs run through your own links and services. Booomtag has no built-in repair booking.
05 · Resale
Verified second owner.
When a product changes hands, the passport and its history go with it. The connection to your brand survives the sale.
The passport
- Ownership transfers only when the new owner accepts it.
- The passport, its documents and history move with the product to the next owner.
For the owner
- The seller hands over a product that is verifiably theirs; the buyer gets it with its history.
For your brand
- You see when a product leaves a wallet, and why: sold, broken or recycled.
Booomtag is not a marketplace. Owners sell where they like; the passport travels along.
06 · Recovery
Recycling & circularity.
At the end of its life, the passport tells the owner where the product can go back, and records that it did.
The passport
- Owners can drop the product off at partner collection points, and the drop-off is recorded on the product.
For the owner
- Sometimes a reward for handing it in, depending on the collection point.
For your brand
- End-of-life reasons per product, so you know how your products leave use.
Drop-off works at Circulr partner locations, for brands that have recycling switched on. Rewards are not available everywhere.
