This statement explains how Booomtag handles personal data in connection with this website (www.booomtag.com). We keep data collection to a minimum: the personal data we actively collect is what you send us through the demo or contact form, plus, only if you consent through the cookie banner, anonymous-by-design usage statistics via Google Analytics.
1. Who we are
The controller for personal data described here is Booomtag B.V., registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 84447184 (VAT: NL863214447B01), with offices at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 33, 1021 KL Amsterdam and Willemsoord 51 AA, 1781 AS Den Helder, the Netherlands. 2. Scope of this statement
This statement covers the public marketing website only. Our connected-product platform, the Consumer Wallet at app.booomtag.com and the Brand Dashboard at connect.booomtag.com, processes account and product-registration data under its own terms. Consumers can review and delete their account and data directly from within the app.
3. What we collect
When you submit the demo or contact form we collect your name and work email, and optionally your company, industry and message. To operate and secure the site, our hosting and content providers process standard technical data such as your IP address and browser details in their server logs. We also store a functional region preference and your cookie choice in your browser (see our cookie policy). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 (loaded via Google Tag Manager) collects usage data such as pages viewed, sections scrolled, buttons clicked, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser details, linked to a random identifier rather than your name.
4. Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use the details you submit to respond to your request and to contact you about a demo or your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you and taking steps at your request before any agreement. We process technical data to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site, based on our legitimate interest, and we process data where necessary to comply with legal obligations. Analytics data is processed only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer; we use it to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so without your consent no analytics cookies are set.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We rely on a small set of trusted processors to run the site: Resend delivers your form submission to our team inbox by email; Vercel hosts the website; our content is served through Directus (hosted on Railway) and Cloudflare; and, only if you consent, Google processes analytics data for us through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4. Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the EU under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, for Google, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
6. How long we keep it
We keep demo and contact submissions only as long as needed to follow up on your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our business records, after which they are deleted. Technical server logs are kept for a short period by our providers for security and diagnostics. Analytics data in Google Analytics is retained for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@booomtag.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Changes to this statement
We may update this statement as the site evolves. When we do, we will revise the date shown above so you can see when the most recent changes took effect.
